Intro Megan Wallin of Sarasota, FL and teammate Kristen Batt of Venice, FL established Team SpikeKey in 2008 as one of the only teams representing the state of Florida on the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals Tour). The AVP’s most recognized players include 2004 and 2008 Olympic women’s beach volleyball gold medalists, Kerri Walsh and Misty May–Treanor.

Megan Megan Wallin is a native of Sarasota, Florida and graduate of Cardinal Mooney high school where she lettered in three sports. She graduated as senior class president and was voted athlete of the year in the state of Florida, 2001. She recently graduated from Michigan State University, where she competed on the varsity volleyball team under a full scholarship. Megan was selected captain and most outstanding player by her teammates in both her junior and senior years. In addition, she was selected as Academic All-Big Ten scholar athlete for four consecutive years.

Kristen Kristen Batt, a resident of Venice, Florida, graduated from Venice High School. She led the team to a state championship in 1999 and was named MVP her junior and senior years. She competed at the University of Kentucky earning a full ride scholarship. She is employed by North Port High School as a Career Counselor. She is the assistant varsity volleyball coach at Venice High School.

Spike 2009 The American women’s team of Kristen Batt and Megan Wallin was perfect in three outings during their participation of the Cayman Islands Beach Volleyball Tournament. Batt-Wallin won Pool C of the competition first defeating the Cayman Islands’ pair of Wanda Brenton-Jennifer Bily 21-15, 21-11, then rolling over Jamaicans Cherine Richards-Cheryl Daley 21-4, 21-6, and capping their performance with a 21-11, 21-14 victory over Costa Ricans Betsy Cruz-Marcela Mora.
